The founder’s wedding
When she was the bride
For her own wedding, Nora Bourelly chose her own haute couture. Her second gown, the one for the celebration, was born in the Milan atelier: designed by her, built by hand, lit by embroidery worked stitch by stitch.
With the same care, the same time and the same discretion, she now accompanies every bride of the Maison.
Un abito cucito sul sé — a garment sewn upon the self.

Bridal haute couture
The day you will be the most beautiful
Not a gown chosen from a catalogue, but yours: conceived for your figure, for the way you move, for the light of the place where you will say yes. Every line exists to flatter you: a slender, elegant waist, a back that tells its own story, a train that follows your every step.
This is Italian couture in its rarest form: a gown made entirely by hand, from the first sketch to the final stitch, for one bride alone.
The heart of the method
A dress form bearing your name
Before any fabric, your dress form is born. We build it to your exact measurements and give it your name: it is on this form that your gown takes shape, day after day, stitch after stitch. So at every fitting, the gown already embraces you like a second skin.
- 01Built to your exact measurements
- 02It bears your name throughout the journey
- 03Your gown takes shape on you even when you are not at the atelier

From sketch to gown
Everything begins with a drawing
From your wishes, from the place and season of your wedding, the sketch is born: the first portrait of your gown, drawn by hand and refined together until you recognise yourself in every line.
Maison projects
Three gowns imagined for the day of the yes
Projects born in our atelier and shown here as visualisations. Your gown will be born from a sketch drawn for you alone, to your measurements.

Satin and embroidery
A sweetheart bodice in ivory silk satin, draped by hand and lit by hand-embroidered flowers. A column skirt and a silk tulle veil as long as a train.

Plumetis organza
A halter neck and a full skirt in ivory plumetis organza that moves with every step. A satin sash at the waist, hand-applied lace and a matching fascinator.

The bridal blouse
For a civil ceremony or a city wedding: a silk chiffon blouse with a pussy-bow, puff sleeves and mother-of-pearl buttons, over a full silk mikado skirt.

The waist
A sculpted figure, a slender waist
Beneath every gown lies an inner structure built by hand to measure: a corset that cinches the waist, supports the bust and shapes the silhouette, without taking any freedom from your movements.
It is what makes you feel perfect from the first glance to the last dance.

The veil and accessories
Handmade bridal veils and coordinated accessories
The veil is the final gesture of the gown, and it is born with it. We make it by hand in silk tulle, organza or chiffon, in the length you desire: hand-finished along its edges, graced with the lace of your gown or the embroidery of our master embroiderers.
Alongside the veil, the Maison creates fascinators and bridal hats, gloves and shoulder wraps, designed with the gown, in the same fabrics and the same embroidery. Everything coordinated, so that every detail speaks of you.

Fabric and embroidery
The most precious fabrics, the rarest embroidery
Leavers lace and tulle by Maison Sophie Hallette and Solstiss, reference houses of international haute couture. Fine silks by Taroni and Ratti, masters of Italian silk. Every material is chosen with you, for the way it falls, the way it answers the light, the way it makes you feel.
Every embroidery you choose, from pearls to crystals, from silk threads to lace appliqués, is worked entirely by hand by master embroiderers with fifty years of experience.

The journey
From the first meeting to your yes
Five moments, lived calmly and in complete privacy.
01The first meeting and the sketch
A private meeting, at the Milan atelier or wherever you prefer. You tell us about yourself, your wedding, the place and the season; your gown takes shape on paper, line by line, and we refine it together down to the last detail.
02Your dress form
Your dress form is born, with your exact measurements and your name. On it the muslin toile takes shape, checking every proportion.
- 03
Built by hand
Only then are the precious fabrics cut. The gown is built and sewn by hand, stitch by stitch, on your dress form.
- 04
The fittings
Usually three fittings, which for a wedding dress may increase with the complexity of the design. With each one, the gown comes closer to you.
05Your gown
The last hand finishes, the Maison label: the gown is complete and belongs to you alone. It is delivered at the atelier, in its ivory garment bag, ready for the most beautiful day.
Behind the scenes
In the atelier, hand after hand
Every fold of tulle, every pin, every stitch: your gown passes from hand to hand until it is perfect.

The founder
Nora Bourelly
Founder of Maison Bourelly
Trained at Istituto Marangoni, with studies in sociology and psychology and experience gained within the world of Armani, Nora Bourelly built her path in private tailoring, in a direct and discreet relationship with every client.
In 2025 she founded Maison Bourelly in Milan, where the Italian tailoring tradition and haute couture meet a careful reading of the person: the garment as a language, elegance as the correspondence between who one is and what one wears.
Before the first meeting
Frequently asked questions about bespoke wedding dresses
How far in advance should I order a bespoke wedding dress?
Timing depends on the gown, the fabrics, the embroidery and the fitting schedule, and is agreed at the first meeting. Since the Maison accepts a limited number of brides each year, we recommend contacting us well in advance.
What is the dress form bearing my name?
It is a dress form built to your exact measurements, which bears your name throughout the journey. Your gown takes shape on it every day: this is why, at every fitting, it already fits you like a second skin.
What is the difference between a bespoke wedding dress and a collection gown?
A collection gown is a catalogue model, produced in series and adjusted with a few alterations. A bespoke wedding dress starts instead from an original sketch and pattern drawn for you, and is built entirely by hand with fittings while it is being made.
How many fittings are there?
Usually three fittings, which for a wedding dress may increase with the complexity of the design.
Can I bring an idea, a photo or a gown I love?
Yes: images, references and wishes are an excellent starting point. Your gown will then be born from a sketch drawn for you, and it will be unique.
Which fabrics and lace can I choose from?
Leavers lace and tulle by Maison Sophie Hallette and Solstiss, silks by Taroni and Ratti, and the collections of other great mills. The choice is made together, according to the design, the season and the wedding venue.
Is the embroidery done by hand?
Yes. Every embroidery, from pearls to crystals, from silk threads to lace appliqués, is worked entirely by hand by master embroiderers with fifty years of experience.
Do you also make the veil and bridal accessories?
Yes. The veil is born together with the gown, in silk tulle, organza or chiffon. The Maison also creates fascinators, bridal hats, gloves and shoulder wraps: everything coordinated, in the same fabrics and the same embroidery as your gown.
Will the gown be comfortable, even with a cinched waist?
Yes. The inner structure is built to measure and shaped on your figure: it cinches the waist and supports the bust without taking any freedom from your movements, from the ceremony to the last dance.
Can fittings take place at my home or abroad?
Yes. Appointments take place at the Milan atelier or, on request, at your residence, in Italy and abroad.
How much does a bespoke wedding dress cost?
Every wedding dress is a unique project: its value depends on the fabrics, the embroidery and the complexity of the construction. The proposal is presented to you personally at the first meeting.
How do I book a first appointment?
By filling in the form at the bottom of this page, or by writing on WhatsApp or by email. The Maison personally contacts every bride to arrange the meeting.
